stadium contractor. workers were sent home almost immediately so cal osha and santa clara police can investigate how it is that the worker was hit and killed by those bundled rebar. here's a statement from the stadium contractor. a material delivery trucksa;x dr was severely injured while materials were being delivered and unloaded from his truck. emergency services were called and the driver was transported to a local hospital. we are deeply saddened to confirm that the driver has passed away. this is the second fatality here at levi stadium during the construction. in june, donald white was killed on the job. he was a 63-year-old elevator mechanic who was struck by a counterweight while he was standing on a ladder. his death shut down construction for two days. but in the end, there was no citation issued by cal osha. it is too soon to tell whether that will be the case this time as the investigation is just getting underway. we can tell you cal osha is on the scene. the workers are no longer here. in santa clara, kris sanchez, nbc bay area news. >> such a tragedy. thank you so muc
